Shipping Policy

SHIPPING DEALS

We will not ship to WA, NT or Northern QLD during hot weather approx.. (Dec, Jan through some of February) OR we may delay shipment to these areas at anytime of the year if it is too hot (e.g.30oC plus).
Summary:

  • Pickup: You can pick up at our Store in Wynnum (81A Edith Street, Wynnum 4178, QLD). 
  • We only use Express Services so the chocolates are delivered quickly. Regular post/courier is not used.
  • Delivery dates or delivery times are not guaranteed, external courier(s) (e.g. Australia Post Express & other) is used. We will, do our best for your parcel to arrive on the date requested.
  • When you buy chocolates from us, we enter into a mutual agreement for your chocolates to arrive to in the best condition possible – which means we also need you/recipient to ensure someone is available to receipt the delivery or provide an address where someone can.

Delivery:

  • Shipping for Orders;
  • QLD, NSW, VIC, ACT: $15.00 flat fee up to 5kg
  • TAS, SA, WA: $20.00 flat fee up to 5kg
  • NT: Please contact us if you want to send to NT and we can discuss shipping times and risks.
  • WA: we advise not to ship to anywhere other than Perth in the warmer months as other locations usually take an additional 2 days or more (compared to standard express shipping) and this is usually too long and the chocolates may melt.
  • FNQ & country QLD – if you know your deliveries normally take 2 or more days, we recommend not buying in the warmer months.
  • Freight to remote or non-metro areas may incur additional costs not charged at checkout. If the only option to freight takes more than 2-3 days, we may choose either to not ship or confirm with you that you will be taking responsibility for any damage, deterioration or melting of the chocolates.
  • All orders are shipped with Authority to Leave. If you do not want to have your order left without signature, then please advise us – however, this will incur extra charge of minimum $30 if you or recipient are not there to receipt the goods and are delivered to a Collect point or Redelivered.
  • If the parcel is left at your house unattended, Chocolate Elements will not take responsibility for loss, deterioration or damage. We ask that you please check the tracking and arrange for someone to be at the address on the date of delivery.
  • You are welcome to organise your own freight/pickup.

Tracking:

  • once you receive tracking information, please ensure that you check so you know when your order is coming.
  • When is order shipped: Ordered before 1pm, usually despatched next Business Day.
  • Ordered after 1pm, usually despatched the day after (Business).
  • We don’t despatch on Thursday or Friday (unless shipping is confirmed overnight & extra charge may apply) so please allow for this when placing order.
  • Orders placed on Friday, Saturday or Sunday are treated as Monday orders so may not be despatched until Tuesday.
  • We prefer a physical address and do not post to PO Boxes.
  • If the order is a gift, as much as you want to surprise someone, you need to be sure someone will be there to receive the parcel.

May I pick up my goods?

  • Yes, you may pick up from Chocolate Elements, Wynnum between 11.00-4.00pm Mon-Friday
  • 11.00am-2.00pm Sat depending on when order placed.

 Can you Deliver Locally and what is the cost?

  • Yes, we can deliver locally (up to 10km radius from 81A Edith Street) for a charge of $7.50. Local delivery times are limited please refer to below:
  • Morning 8.30am-9am Mon-Fri. Evening Mon 18:00-18:30; Tue & Wed 18:30 – 19:30

If your address is in a rural location or residential and freight quoted by our carrier is significantly higher than what we have charged you or the shipment option chosen by you takes too long, the actual freight required to be paid may be higher. We will contact you to discuss if this occurs.

How are good sent?

  • All Chocolates are sent via Australia Post Express or reputable courier, overnight if available.
  • Our chocolates are packed snuggly in Australia Post boxes.
  • Shipping is via air or road courier.

How long does it take?

  • Shipping normally takes 1-3 weekdays depending on the recipient location (not guaranteed at peak times in the year).
  • We may hold orders if temperatures are 30 plus degrees centigrade in either our location or the recipient location and wait until the weather cools, unless you the customer urgently require & accept the risk of the chocolates deteriorating/melting.
  • We prefer not to ship on Thursdays or Fridays as the chocolates may be held in a courier warehouse over the weekend and wont risk chocolates items being incorrectly stored (unless local or going to a cool location).
  • If we expect it will not be delivered by the weekend, we may hold the order until the following week to minimise travel time.

How long will it take to despatch my order?
We are a small business; shipment will usually be organised within 1 Business Day after payment is confirmed. Exceptions do apply in Peak periods when there are special days/holidays e.g., Easter, Christmas etc… when our volume is significantly higher than normal or staff availability.

  • If payment confirmed by 8am, orders are normally shipped the next business day (exception Thus & Fri)
  • For orders placed on weekends, normal shipping day is Tuesday.
  • We usually don’t send orders out on Thursdays or Fridays due to the risk of courier extended shipping times – they may be held until Monday. (We may ship Thursday only if Express shipping is paid for and the courier confirms overnight shipping or the customer expressly requests).
  • Occasionally we have a run on some chocolates and sell out, your order may be delayed while we re-stock – if there is to be a significant delay (raw material shortage), we will contact you to check whether this is OK or swap for an alternative item.

 Do you ship to regional and remote areas?

  • Due to the length of time it takes parcels to reach some regional & remote areas, some of these areas may not be possible to ship to or may incur higher shipping prices. This will depend on the size of the order.
  • If you are in a regional area &/or not sure whether your location is included in above shipping rates, please contact us at hello@chocolateelements.com.au BEFORE placing an Order or Purchasing to check if products can be ship to the required area & delivery times.
  • Should you decide to proceed with your chocolate order, even if we have advised the shipping time is considered a high risk for melting/deterioration, we will not accept responsibility for the chocolates ordered arriving in good condition – i.e. They might melt.

What address should I use?

  • When you order please use a physical delivery address and ensure someone will be available to sign.
  • Please note, deliveries are during business work hours, so it would be best to use a work address, or your home address if you will be available all day and the items can be received.

What happens if I am not there when they deliver?

  • Our service is now automatically “Authority to Leave”.
  • This does not imply it is OK to just have them delivered and not be there. The packaging will protect the chocolates for a very limited time and being left outside is not advised. They are chocolates and can easily melt or be taken by someone else.
  • We do not take responsibility for delayed deliveries due as a consequence of your/recipient availability to accept the parcel, incorrect addresses or if redirection of the parcel.
  • If you ask for the parcel to be left without someone there, we do not take responsibility for the condition of the chocolates nor if the goods are stolen.
  • We accept no responsibility if the person receiving the goods at your delivery address eats your chocolates before you or intended recipient get them.

Please note that the courier may charge a re-delivery fee if they are unable to deliver the first time, they attempt delivery which will be charged to you.
Can you ship overseas?

  • Yes, we can. Please send us an email hello@chocolateelements.com.au for a quote. UK and NZ orders can now be ordered automatically through our online store.
